Garage Storage Racks

The standard Gorilla Rack is one of the most familiar storage racks for the garage. This unit is six feet tall, with five, 24″ deep shelves, and is the one you will quite often find in home garages and workshops.

The Gorilla Rack shelves are adjustable (easy when you assemble them – later… not so much) so you can set the height you want for each shelf. It is not unusual to use a number of these together along one or more walls. They are sturdy and heavy-duty. They are not going to go anywhere once they are assembled and loaded. So if you use these racks, place them where you will want them to be, for a long time.

The flat shelves are made from particle board and can hold up to 500 pounds per shelf which can handle just about any storage needs. Take care not to spill oil or paint on the shelves as the particle board does stain. The angle posts and the cross-bracing (not shown) are powder coated and so will maintain their look for years to come.

Chrome Wire Shelving

My favorite shelving for the garage is the chrome wire shelving. You will find these not only in the garage but also in the pantry or even in many commercial kitchens and hospitals.

You can load these shelves with up to 600 pounds per shelf and they will handle it with no problems. By having the storage racks on wheels, you can stack these back to back or side to side and then pull out the one you need. It really is most convenient to be able to move these racks around. With the wheel brake levers in the locked position, they only move when and where you want. These have been used for construction material, pots, and pans, Christmas decorations, and stacked clothing both in clear plastic boxes and in vacuum storage bags. These racks have been used in a pantry as well as in a clothes closet. They are the handiest things you can imagine. You can even get shelf decks so books or other small things do not fall through the wire.

Adjustable Shelves

An important feature, for me at least, is that they are completely and easily adjustable at any time. You will not be able to count the number of times you will have changed the distance between the shelves – and it was as easy as pie to do. You can combine them in all kinds of configurations – if you can think of it, you can probably put these units together just like what you imagined.

If you cannot tell, I really like these storage racks. I don’t think there is a better storage system out there. But that’s my opinion.
